Brendan Renkin – a plain-speaking lawyer-linguist with qualifications in law, international community development, indigenous governance, mediation, monitoring, evaluation, and linguistics

Brendan is not your ordinary lawyer. Admitted to practice in 2006 he has worked in commercial law and native title law and as general counsel, before running his own legal practice for over 10 years. Finding the narrowness of legal analysis and advice frustrating to helping solve most challenges, Brendan undertook further study and obtained qualifications in mediation, facilitation, and corporate governance.

Brendan has held senior executive and governance roles at several prominent indigenous organisations, including roles as a senior advisor, community development manager and as a non-executive director.

As a consultant Brendan has worked with a range of government and community organisations to improve governance, support short and long-term planning, design and build programs, secure funding, review performance and identify key factors to success.
